A 'Jensen' girls weekend

I was lucky enough to be invited to a girls weekend with my mom, my two aunties (her sisters) and two of my cousins. I had a wonderful time and am so happy to have such wonderful family!

Hanging out at the house, waiting to go shopping!

Of course I found an elephant to get my picture taken with!

Love this picture of us girls with umbrellas!

Visiting Grand Central Bakery while in Portland is a must. If you haven't already, I'd would highly suggest that you do!

My auntie Kim and sweet cousins Chloe and Sophie

Sophie was so proud of her purchase of these amazing high heeled boots!

Mom, Sophie and auntie Kim at lunch

Auntie Sue, Chloe and me at lunch!

Thanks again ladies, I had a very enjoyable time. Next time, we should take Chloe to Powell's book store and go to Salt n Straw ice cream! Also, we should give VooDoo donuts a try! :)

7th Wedding Anniversary

For our 7th wedding anniversary, we headed to Lincoln City. We rented a condo that had a hot tub on the balcony facing the ocean. We had such a wonderful relaxing time. The views of the ocean were amazing and the weather was even warm on our anniversary. We enjoyed a nice walk on the beach. I believe that it was around 60 degrees and we did see blue sky for a short while. It was really fun to see the lights of fishing vessels on the horizon of the ocean - just as far away as our eye could see. Then, we used the binoculars and were able to make out details of the boats. We had a really nice time and are looking forward to the time that we can go back there again someday.

Winter snow of 2014

In early February, we had a major snow storm ... and I called into work saying that I couldn't make it in for the day! It was a really fun day, to watch the snow coming down all day long. Dennis did go to work that day, however it took him over 2 hours to get home that evening. The next day, which was Saturday, Dennis built himself a roaring fire in the backyard! It was fun to see so much snow here!

Heading home from San Diego

Dennis and I took 4 days to drive home from San Diego. I think neither of us were ready to leave the warm, sunny California weather and head back to the cold, gray, wintery rainy weather. We drove around in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, which was a lot of fun. Had we planned it better, it would have been great to walk down the main street of Hollywood but that didn't work out this time. We did drive until we found the famous 'Hollywood' sign and of course had to get pictures of it. We also got an room upgrade at Best Western which was a treat! We had a great trip and made it home in time to attend a New Years Eve party that evening!

First glimpse into Hollywood!

Dolby Theatre

Anyone want to join me at Spa Luce in Hollywood?

Pretty! For some reason, though, Dennis didn't stop the car to let me shop! :)

So many cars and people!

Beverly Hills Hotel!

A pretty house that we saw. I like to imagine that it housed someone famous and that we got to drive past their house! I just wish I knew who lived there ... :)

A Maserati! We saw about 5 this day I think

Lots of traffic and palm trees too!

A wood pile Christmas tree

Lots and lots of people!

Not so sure that I would want to live in this house. I do wonder how sturdy it was built

A Bentley

After driving around for-EVER, we finally spotted the HOLLYWOOD sign!

Here is a better picture of it! :)

Of course we had to find IN-N-OUT before we headed out of Hollywood!

Ford Theatre

Universal Studios! Unfortunately we weren't able to go this time. Maybe next time! :)

So. Much. Traffic. We actually didn't make it too far this evening - traffic was so incredibly heavy!

We got our room upgraded at Best Western!

Our last visit to IN-N-OUT burger! :(

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour! We had a blast here! We shared The Golddigger and wished that we had room for more ice cream!

A fun mustache on the wall

Dennis with our ice cream

Me with our ice cream

One benefit about leaving at 4 am to head home - is the beautiful sunrise that we saw!

This is such a great pic!

HOME SWEET HOME! It felt sooo good to arrive home! :)

Anyone want to go with us on an investment? I figure that if we can get 123 people to go in on this - we'd all pay around $1,000 a month on the mortgage! Or, maybe I should find 246 people and then our mortgage would be around $500. I wonder what taxes are!

We had a great time in San Diego, downtown, with Nate & Emily and then on our way home! We are looking forward to the next time that we get to drive to see them! :)

Christmas 2013 - in San Diego, CA!

Dennis and I decided to travel to San Diego, CA for Christmas to visit Nate and Emily this year. We had made plans earlier to have all of the Mel Smith family together for Christmas - but those plans fell through. We had a wonderful time, the weather was gorgeous, and Emily's family was very hospitable towards Dennis and I.

Apparently Kitty didn't want us to leave

I moved him from my suitcase to Dennis' suitcase and then ...

He climbed INSIDE mine! He thought that he was going to come with us!

Ollie is sort of huge!

Our 20+ pound cat!

The start of our roadtrip! This was the first time that I've driven to Southern California. I rode in a van to Disneyland as a kid.

Yes! We actually plan our trips around IN-N-OUT locations!

Midnight arrival at Best Western in downtown San Diego. After getting the wrong kind of room twice I was able to get us upgraded to the 11th floor on the Bay side! Wahoo! Beautiful room!

This car had the best paint job. In some lights it looked blue and others it looked purple!

This was the view from our room! Beautiful!

Nighttime lights in a busy city

Our camera takes some pretty awesome pictures

City lights

Look who we saw on our way to their house! Yay! Grizzly is the CUTEST dog ever!

Not a bad view for December 24th Oh and the weather was perfect!

This guy was balancing rocks - he was so good!

Dennis did very well too!

A poinsettia Christmas tree! It was huge and beautiful!

Christmas dinner!

Such good food!

The Christmas dinner party! It was so nice of Ward's to let us invite ourselves to their family Christmas dinner!

Such a fun day!

Thankfully this note disappeared when it was time to actually eat the desserts

Nate carrying on the tradition of Grandpa Smith and dad Smith!

The puzzle masters

Grizzly - Nate and Emily's German Shepherd dog is the absolute sweetest, most loving, obedient, awesome dog!

He's sort of big!

A HUGE table at a wood shop ... amazingly long!

Christmas tree with the Pacific Ocean in the background. It seems like there is something wrong with this picture - the sunshine looks abnormal for December! :)

Apparently Bruce didn't want us to leave!

Nate and Emily (if you've made it this far down our blog) thank you so much for hosting us for a couple of nights and including us in your family Christmas. We had a great time and are already looking forward to the next time we get to see you guys!
